If you’ve seen the trailer for the Farrely brother’s The Three Stooges, you know that this movie is stillborn. I think the one thing that really, really stood out was that they Catholicized The Three Stooges. The back story is that they are orphans raised Catholic. None of the men playing the stooges are Jews. I think the guy playing Moe is Australian and very ethnically Greek.
The Three Stooges were all Jews, even Curly. They are pioneers of comedy in the age of film. It’s a bit unfair to do this to them. Moe Howard was a comic genius. He really gave a shit about the science of making people laugh. It was his passion. Here’s an interview that Moe did with a very young Tom Bergeron about the Three Stooges. It’s fascinating.

I hope the studio decides not to release this piece of shit. They can do that and eat the cost. I’d respect them so much if that happened.
